"Don't you dare to say a word and give away my location..."
This character was drawn from scratch without any references and was inspired by old and new cyberpunk. The frame with the glass in front of his right eye is a head up display and obviously, he is a fan of music. Why else should he wear on-ear headphones? The belt going over his right shoulder has a metal plate that allows him to attach stuff to it, for example a special flashlight. And the gas mask is just that: A gas mask.
Doesn't it look weird how he's wearing his rings on top of his glove? But maybe they do have a purpose after all, tools that only work, if they are uncovered, requiring him to wear them on top even when wearing gloves.
This picture was drawn with my 0.7mm mechanical pencil (HB). It took me roughly three days in an on/off work. I guess I could have achieved a better result, if I used several strenghts of B and H in a combination with HB instead of using just one kind of pencil all the way through from the very beginning. Nonetheless, I am quite satisfied with this picture. Its only purpose was to check, if I can still draw in some sort of semirealistic style, anyway.
As my scanner made the picture look rather weak in contrast compared to what I have on the sheet of paper in front of me, I slightly increased it. I blame the dark layers to be a bit reflective, at least that is my only explanation why the contrasts might have suffered and can't be fixed just like that with some sliders. It still does not look exactly how it does in real life (the background shading is lighter for example) but this is the closest result I could achieve without investing an unnecessarily high amount of time into it.
As always, criticism is welcome!
I hope you like it!
